TMO UMA and E911 Maybe this is old news, but my search attempts didn't find discussion of it. Yesterday, while looking at my Profile on the My T-Mobile site, I noticed they had added a new tab in the Profile for a E911 home location. I assume that this is in preparation for the UMA / T-Mobile @ Home service rollout, and is intended to satisfy compliance for the FCC VoIP E911 rules. Since I'm not in Seattle, nor on UMA, the E911 Profile tab would not accept any information for my account. |
UMA =is that umts ? Like 3g? The next generation of hspa or am I getting my acronoums(sp) mixed up. God I wish spells checks were built in some time. |
No, I think UMA is the service that allows it to also call over wifi. |
jddphd is correct. |
UMA is rumored to go live nationwide on 06/27. |
it's not a rumor ;) |
LOL! I know...but it is the Rumor Forum. And one gets eaten alive around here if we say for sure something is happening and then it doesn't!! |
With the rumor of the T-Mobile Hotspot @Home service coming out on 6/27 I hope there will be a nice WiFi-enabled BlackBerry that follows shortly after (cough... 8320... cough) |
