Talked to the cingular guys today when i was getting my new BB 8300. hes a big blackberry guy and he said they got an email early this morning stating:

For the release of the iPhone, EDGE network funding is going to go WAY UP!!

Since the iPhone is V2, not V3 (meaning iPhone=pointless) more funding will be going into EDGE tech. The guy said just in sourthern california 10,000 more towers are going to be put up.

I would take ANYTHING that a person in a mobile phone store says with a very large grain of salt.

Additionally, I'm not sure what you mean by "V2" and "V3". If you meant to say that the iPhone is not 3G, then you are correct. It's not. It can only run EDGE, which is technically classified as a "2.75G" technology.

sorry chief...but nothing that comes out of the mouths of a store employee is ever true...especially a bloated statement that Cingular/ATT will be adding 10,000 towers JUST because of the iPhones. are you f*cking insane? excuse my french, but Cingular/ATT would never add 10,000 towers just for the iPhone.

he was probably just trying to make cingular/att look awesome to you because you just locked yourself into a new 2 year contract with your new BB Curve, and he got commission off your no-brain sorry @$$

we have to remember that the age in these forums is constantly dropping and rapidly I might add. It used to be the IQ level now its age.

So kids with a Mommy and Daddy who can afford to give them what ever their hearts desire, all have blackberrys and they will then all want the iphone and then the next biggest and shinnest phone. THye will believe anything that minimum wage guy at the mall kiosk tells them

i second that. society is full of these teenies (most female i might add but lots of males are just as guilty) who are totally spoiled. what the HECK does a little kid need a blackberry? the ONLY reason why these types of individuals have blackberry devices is b/c it is expensive. b/c of the class they are in (upper class), they must buy the most expensive phone and the most fancy phone...even tho they won't use most of the features. i see these little kids walking around with Treo's...what the HECK do they need a treo? i also see adults doing the same thing and when i talk to them, they don't even use it for applications or email. stupid american consumers

no no, i'm american. sorry, when i say that, i MEAN to say uneducated consumers. i'd say the majority of american consumers are not educated enough to make a business decision concerning buying something or signing a contract. people don't think and they believe what they are told by the "guy in the store" with the "our network is #1" pin on his shirt lol

yo i had the WORST day of work today, man...i had back to back meetings and the first meeting ran late and it made me late for every meeting after that and every time i was late they would call and say "where are you" so after the first 2 meetings like that i decided i would take the initiative and i would send out mass emails from my blackberry...but they would still call and say "where the heck are you dammit?"

hellish day. need sleep. going after that now.

i don't have patiences for the noob-ness that wreaks around here. i mean, okay...everyone is a noob at some point. but all it takes...just a few searches and you can get yourself caught up with things and teach yourself how to do things. another poster in this thread had it right that the age group for electronics is decreasing (there are little kids with blackberry devices b/c celebs have them)...and with the decrease in age comes a decrease in maturity and independance. they still need to be spoon fed answers to questions...then again...a significant portion of adults are like that as well haha.

oh boy, enough of this rant. i need to get back to work, got a big meeting tomorrow.
