Default Speakerphone for 72XX serries - 05-14-2005, 02:01 AM

Will RIM ever add a Speakerphone to the 72XX serries- don't understand why they didn't do that in the first place. I have a 7100g and the speakerphone is great (have had lots of compliments about it- except outside!), but really miss the full kbd of the more traditional models.

While maybe not the most convenient, if you switched to the 7290, you could use one of the Bluetooth speakerphones. Depends on when/where you use the speaker phone I guess.

Thanks- but not very convenient- need it on the fly. No one has said *why* RIM did this. That is, not put a speakerphone into their standard form factor devices in the 1st place.

I would think the Nextel 7520's have a speakerphone for DC and I bet they add them to the Electron.

RIM builds what the carriers want to sell. If the carriers want a speakerphone (and larger form factor) in the 7200 (or 7700) GSM series devices, then we will see them.

The Nextel devices have speakerphones (and DC) because that's what Nextel wants.

I'd put up with a slightly larger BlackBerry if it meant I could have a speaker phone built in!

I use a blue tooth adapter for mine in the car. And when im not in the car im on my mot 850. It would be nice if it was built in but the blue tooth works fine for me.
