FWIW, my technical contact at TMO came back and said their internal friendly beta went better than expected, in addition to RIM addressing bugs and issues rather quickly with internal OS releases, and that we should see this in the mid- to late-September time frame, a few weeks ahead of the realistic October dates that were their 'non-target target' dates (basically they were actually going to hit their target release date for a change). That's from the technical point of view. Sales and marketing and production point of view may still delay it to early October, as originally stated.
Borg, the model is the 8320.

thats great news....
i just wish they would relay a few things to the sales department...
I called today to ask when it was coming out. I got a lady who sounded snobbish and *****y (at least her tone seemed like that) and when I asked she said? "Blackberry WHAT?!" When I finally convinced her it was a real phone she went to "look it up" and came back to say, "Oh... THAT phone, thats only offered by AT&T, and by the looks of it it looks exactly like the BlackBerry 8800 we carry. I dont see any difference." When I told her it was suppose to come out for Tmobile, "uhh... I dont know, i doubt it would its the exact same as the 8800 from what I can see." I said the new one that is suppose to come to Tmobile is suppose to come out with WiFi. Her reply was, "Oh well, we have phones that have wifi on them that uses that new thing(yes she actually did say THING)" At this point I knew this little lady was hopeless so just hung up....
No wonder Tmobile doesnt have much subscribers, with sales people like her, Im amazed anyone would subscribe... except for cheap bastards like me
But back on topic though, is your informant sure it is coming out in October? Im thinking about getting a Curve but I dont know whether to wait it out for the 8320 or just get a 8300 now. I dont even really care for the @Home thing...

There's more to WiFi than @home. Namely a broadband data connection available at GPRS prices.
Thanks for comin' thru with the 411, jibi. Very helpful in making purchase decisions.

well you half way right on the braod band issue thats only if the WIfi AP most of the time a router is hooke to a highspeed conection Now if the connection on the other side of the router drops wifi ain't gonna do you much good
most of thos hot spot are wifi routers on the back of a highspeed conection like an E3 cable modem ADSL or T1 in the rare case fiber optics

I was talking with a T-Mo rep today who was talking about his own phone. He said T-Mobile would be releasing the new color Pearls later this month and he plans to get the Gold one right away.
I would say that he's referring to these ones:
BlackBerry Pearl 2 “Komet” reveals itself | The Boy Genius Report
Some might call this a rumor, so take it however you like. I just wanted to pass the word along. The curve may still be forthcoming to T-Mobile, but I'm betting what you get later this month is a new Pearl.

Actually the rep is right. Komet is Pearl2 along with its CDMA version (think of it as a 8800 plus camera in a pearl case)
There are 3 different Curves (aka: 3 bears) silver, dark gray and pewter gold. Silver has no GPS no wifi. Dark Gray has wifi (possible CDMA version). Gold has Wifi, GPS and all 3 have camera.

Eh? you sure about this?
I think there are only 2 curves. First, the silver 8300 which has neither Wifi or GPS. Then the 8310 which is grey, and has GPS. The rumored 8320 will have WiFi, but the color is still unknown. I have heard nothing of a Gold 83XX - especially one that has BOTH GPS and Wifi. There was a big post that stated that the 8310 = Papa Bear, and that GPS and WIFI cannot both be jammed into the small casing of the 83XX.
See: BlackBerry 8310 is the “Papa Bear” and the BlackBerry Pearl 2 (Comet) goes to AT&T | The Boy Genius Report

The colors do not represent features but rather carriers, just as EVERY other BlackBerry has been as such. The Gold will likely be the Rogers release, or some other carrier's limited edition version (or some crap like that). The darker grey (Titanium, I believe they call it) will be the 8320 on T-Mobile. There are NO Curve devices that will feature GPS and Wi-Fi. The 8310 will be GPS-enabled. The 8320 will be Wi-Fi enabled. The 8330 will be GPS-enabled (standard CDMA device feature, so it will be crippled on VZW's release, as usual).

Yes, thats along the same lines as what I had been hearing. People who are waiting for a Curve with GPS and WiFi will be waiting a VERY (infinitely) long time. Bring on that grey 8310 with GPS - it looks hot!!

Looks like I was wrong about the eventual release color, despite all models I've seen being the Titanium for the 8320 (including my former one). T-Mobile is releasing the Gold colored model (odd choice, if you ask me).

I'm with you there bud. Maybe you could switch the housing with the 8300? That would be pretty hot. Plus, you would get a chance to transfer all that dust from the 8300 to the 8320

Well at least my photo was correct about MyFavs; those circle of dots around the battery cover release latch ;)
Looking for that perfect signature, hmm.
