Angry Will Bell Mobility open up the APN?

Please Login to Remove!

ALL I want to do is use my Blackberry as a modem...
ok, that's a bit of a stretch...I use almost every feature every day...but still...
Will they every open it up the APN to be used as a modem?
I e-mailed support, and all they said was, "This feature is unavailable"...no "coming soon" or "at this time".

My bell mob. reps told me that some of their biggest accounts (big Canadian Banks) specifically said they DO NOT WANT the MODEM feature enabled becuase they are note ready to manage the potential security risk related to suddenly giving employees open access to the Internet from their corporate desktops or laptops. It's the fear of the unknown that scared them away from this. Of all the carriers I think we can see that Bell has allways been the most cautious in areas like this.
For this reason, I don't see it a being very likely that your bell BB will have MODEM capabilities any time soon.
When I pushed for it they offered me Sierra wireless cards as an alternative (but that means a bigger expense).
