I've also heard that Verizon might be passing on the Curve. Fortunately for Verizon customers, if they really are opening up then any carriers CDMA Curve (if it's released at all) will work on their network.

no they didnt give any reason but 99% of the time these three are right on the money.

One more question....did they tell you that Verizon was definitely not getting the Curve or did they just tell you that they weren't sure if Verizon was going to get it? Thanks

I might have to do the same. My contract is up next month and I was planning on getting the Pearl and reupping, and then getting the Curve in a few months, just assuming that Verizon would get the Curve like every other carrier. Do you know why they are passing on the device?

I was debating on the pearl too ... but I can't get past suretype. I wish I knew why, any guess would be just that; a guess.

Yea I'm not a huge fan of suretype. But I just figured that I could suck it up for a while before the Curve is available. The problem for me is that most of my friends are on Verizon, so the mobile-to-mobile helps, and Verizon really has the best service in my area. Just out of curiosity, what makes you so sure that Verizon wont be getting the Curve? (fingers crossed that maybe you are wrong...haha)

My guess. They already have a BB with camera for the personal consumer in the 8130. The business people don't get a camera, but a full keyboard and that's the 8830 position. Add to that the fact they probably don't want to have open wifi on the Curve so they probably won't bother with that phone because of that. Too bad for us consumers because I'd gladly pay a small fee per month for UMA support on a wifi Curve from them. I won't pay for GPS, but I'll pay for UMA.

Im with verizon now, and the curve seems like a perfect device for me. I like verizons coverage but if they dont get the curve soon, or plan to, I'm outta there.

It is impossible for anyone at RIM to know whether verizon plans to release a curve or not. U are talking directly out of your ass. And now ur mad cuz I called u out

What was the point of posting information that has 0% truth to it?

So whose talking out of their ass.
