If it's coming to one NA carrier, it comes to all of them at once.

Doesn't seem to have changed yet. I have BIS accounts with both SunCom and Verizon (temporarily) and I can't tell any change in either system.

In the past, how long has it taken the carriers to release, once its available?
I remember waiting quite awhile for 2.3 to come out.

I'm with Sprint and I just tried logging into my BIS. I'm unable to at the moment, but I can get into my BIS email settings on my device. Does that mean anything.....I don't know. Guess I'll know soon enough.

I haven't been able to login to my Cingular/AT&T BIS for a few minutes, so I came here to the forums to see if anyone else was experiencing this. Of course, I found this thread. BBF always has the answer!

Default IMAP Push-Email - 09-16-2007, 03:55 AM

Well I think the new BIS 2.4 has been implemented, at least on VZW. Just did a few tests with on of my IMAP accounts and I am getting instant (30 seconds upon receipt) email delivery.

Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT: well I thought it was instant. More testing shows normal polling. Sorry.

Woke up this morning, and i'm now able to log in. I have no idea however to know based on the end user interface if the BIS has actually been updated.

Hey guys when I go to Options->About it says v4.2.1.107 (Platform 2.3.0.83). Is the platform the BIS version? I'm on T-Mobile btw.

I laughed when I read this too! LOL But then again, you can't fault people for not knowing. Consumers don't need to know the relationship between the platform they are using, and the BIS/BES that seems transparent to them. If everyone knew the inner workings of network services or their hardware, there would not be a market for support now would there?
