Hey I see this as a positive. If all I have to do to get out of a contract with a service provider is complain and call them some names awesome. They are really just hurting themselves with this. If they break the contract you don't have to pay the Termination Fees. They are really just giving people a easy way to get out of there contracts. Think now all those people who just bought there IPhone to hack them can now get out of having to pay the monthly service fee and they will still have the phone to hack. It is going to end up costing the provider alot of money.

Default Interesting Legal Issue

If you call someone a SOB and they sue you for libel or slander then if you can prove that they are of "low birth" you win, if false you lose. Basically you are not guilty if you tell the truth.

I wonder what will happen the first time someone takes this to court and proves in their court case that their complaints were true. Sounds like someone at the no longer baby bell is not thinking this through. Management immaturity.

Let me just say that AT&T is the bestest wireless service ever!

I thought this was going to a thread about AT&T canceling those who edited their .alx's to enable BBMaps and disable PTT. Not that I would ever do that.

TBOLT, I agree completely. This is a very interesting turn of events that will likely have every consumer protection agency up in arms foaming at the mouth for the first time they actually cancel someone's service.

Management immaturity. It is one of the real problems with the United States. Too many young MBAs being given upper management positions with no experience or common sense.

And how many job descriptions do you see nowadays that include any experience in 'common sense'?

WRONG, Sprint got rid of deadbeat customers who constantantly called and complained to CS with the intent of getting free or discounted services as a result of their discontent. Not even close to what ATT is rumored to be doing.
Nice try though.

Thank you for clarifying. However, in terms of perception, it may not be the best business practice.

I think you just helped make my point. I was involved with interviewing some college grads earlier this year and the questions that HR had given me and the other interviewers included no technical or work history related questions. More in the line of "do you play well with others, do you want to be CEO, what color flowers do you like etc., etc. etc." When one grad was asked a simple technical question that she should have known in order to do the job she started crying. The HR people got very irate. What is wrong with this picture?

SO what about the 200 military officers they disconnected for roaming even thou their contacts said they would not be disconnected because Military personnel is excluded from the less them 50% roaming clause.

When we see someone cancelled then we should worry. If you read the language it really sounds like it is pertaining to DSL/ISP situation where BS/ATT may have to shut down someone due to certain "content". There is currently a big issue being made about ISPs being responsible and possibly being fined for not reporting things that I will not mention here.

To think that your mobile service is going to be cancelled because you said big, bad ATT is a bit comical. I doubt they think you are worth the press..

Again, this is not what ATT is rumored to be doing. Another good try.

They are not rumored to be doing anything. AT&T has updated it's TOS and the internet experts have interpreted them how they see fit and commented. The only rumor'ing is from folks spreading internet "truths" as anything more than pure speculation...The news was the change in verbiage. Other than random people making comments, there has been no mention of them actually acting on anything...and this doesn't even consider that these internet experts have interpreted whatever service fits their rant best.

gimme a break already.
