I don't normally use the email password option. I just set the activation password on the device then I activate the device.

Not sure exactly your problem may be but you may want to try it that...

This is a known problem as of 4.0 SP 2 Hotfix...

This is a known problem as of 4.0 SP 2 Hotfix 2&3. You can find more information about the problem if you search the BlackBerry support for KB-04926.

Looks like it is fixed in 4.1.
