Tether bluetooth error - "Could not find the tether service on the device"

I bought BB Tether 1.1.0.2, now on 1.1.0.6. USB mode works fine with my BB 9550 (connection speeds ~ 1100/ 600 Kbps)

Ok, heres the skinny on recovering your wap T-zones capability after you install the new OS & restore data..

You don't need to install anything else. Just go to tools/settings/hostRoutingTable...

Figured it out - need newer os upgrade to fix!

So, I am responding to my own post. If you have OS version version 3.8.0.112 (platform 1.8.0.83) kernel v. 3.8.0.18 like I did, you should also have this caller id font bug.

Be careful - temporarily lost apps with OS install defaults

With this install (1st pass) I lost phone, browser & download fun icons. From Apps, lost tasks, notepad, and brickbreaker. From settings, lost help file. All this despite backup and restore...
