I am on the .246 platform. I also get this problem from time to time. Sometimes it connects and sometimes it does not. I have to connect manually. It takes a few tries until it makes a connection....

It sometimes happens when I sync my BB. You can either pull the battery or turn your BB to landscape and see if that helps.

Can you download App world without a data plan?

I get better photos too. It looks like your lens is dirty. Also taking your photos at 1x produces better photos. It's not a Nikon but usable.
