Re: Why don't young people like Blackberry ?

Why would anyone buy a phone they'd never seen any of their friends use, and which none of their friends could help them with, and which had an OS completely unfamiliar to them? Kids can start with...

9780s - lots of white screen problems

We have about 80 9780s here, all nearly 2 years old now. In the last few months I've been seeing more and more white screen problems, where the phone appears to be functioning perfectly except that...

Re: holster for z10

Hmm, I doubt it. I'd really like to think that they removed the feature because of some user research, but I doubt that too.

Re: Restarting after OS update

Correction - it does flash green while charging if it's turned off. It's only while it's on that it doesn't flash.

My Blackberry phone is the same, so I assume this is normal.

I still don't...

Should LED light up when charging?

I just thought I'd post an update for this issue. I was instructed by an Optus shop to "call Blackberry direct" on 1800 039 536.

Despite it being over a year old (maybe 16 months), he said it has...

"Flag for followup" not synching with Outlook (BES)

If I set a flag on an email on my 9800 by pressing W, the copy of the email I see in Outlook doesn't ever get its flag set. It doesn't work in the other direction either.

If I mark an email as...

Re: BB10 vs Galaxy S III vs Iphone 5

All I've got to compare my 9800 (OS6 on BES) with is my new iPad (iOS6). Can I assume the software on iPhone is similar? Naturally, I've never looked at BB10.

I find the iPad browser to be magic...

Re: Wow - what an article

Is it ironic that a thread about how people are becoming ashamed of their Blackberry phones end up as a discussion about what other phones to buy. Or is it just sad?

Re: BB10 to have the best browser of any mobile platform

I'm fairly happy with the one on my 9800, running OS6, except that it often just closes all the tabs. I'd be more excited about a fix for that than an announcement about a phone I'm never likely to...

Re: Wow - what an article

I forgot to reply about this comment. I've got a 98000, and it's probably the best Blackberry I've had, but I think it's typical of the RIM design efforts that are driving people to other brands.

Re: 9780 trackpad fixed by OS update?

I've managed to reproduce the problem by putting into a ziplock bag, breathing into the bag to make the air moist, sealing the bag, and putting it in the fridge (not the freezer) for 10 minutes.

Re: 9780 trackpad fixed by OS update?

I see that I've got 8 other users with 9780s running 6.0.0.534, so I doubt it's an OS version problem, unless that's not the version it was running. I didn't look before I upgraded it.

Re: Restarting after OS update

No, it's WiFi only. I assumed it wouldn't have an IMEI because of that, but the dealer said there must be one. They're still searching their records for the serial number.

Now the dealer wants the IMEI number to check the warranty. It's not on the case, so I assume you can only get it via the OS, which isn't running. Any ideas?
