BB connect is for non RIM manufactured phones like Nokia E series & communicators , SE P series.
Since N95-8 GB is a N series, BBconnect is not available for it.

RIM also gets royalty from service providers offering BIS/ BES plans. So more devices having BBC installed, more the revenue.
Thats the logic behind BBC client for competitors devices.;-)
