A.) NO. The 8830xxx8217;s GSM operates in the 900 / 1800 Mhz band where as T-Mo and AT&T use 850 / 1900 in the united states...

Mine did that and I tried a battery pull and that didn't work. I took the battery out an hour or so and it started charging again. Hook it up to your computer via USB and see if it charges.

If you have a password on the device you will probably have to use the T-Mobile software. I know on Alltel 8830 and 8330 you can't use the XP dial-up if you have a password... the Alltel software...
