I personally see a big improvement from EDGE to 3G, however that is only on data extensive sites like crackberry.com or digg.com, but in mobile sites the difference is barely noticeable.

.109 will keep EDGE very stable unless you try to email configure, go on media net, or use some apps. However it is very stable otherwise.
