interesting we had the same issue. Install got to then end, threw up an error. The installer then did a roll back. the rollback did a complete uninstall, i suspect the same has happend in your...

just to be clear after adding a user to the bes server all html msgs sent to them apear as plain text? Dont think its the BES since all it does is monitor the new event in the store for the mailbox...

for the larger installs, how many users are you able to run on a box?

how many bes server instances per box?

we run to logical servers per box, 425 users per bes server instance.

simple process

Important to remember..

use the same srp key
use the same admin mailbox
use the same auth key
same bes logical server name.
windows server name can be different.

this is pretty much our DR...

we wrote the application in house to keep track of conditions that would cause hung threads.. admin deleting mailboxes prior to removing the entry from the bes server. a major pain, we been on rims...

write a MAPI/CDO app to read RIM attributes from exchange

it can be done, useful when mapped to the exchange directory. you can look for bes users who are hidden in the address book, or whos mailbox has been deleted prior to removal from the bes server
