point taken. it does work as she likes it and i have tried a 9700 that had os 6 on and it did seem sluggish. going to keep it at os 5 until the contract is up in a year.

dumb question
My wife has a Bold 9700 with an older version of OS 5. Any benefit to upgrading to OS 6.0.0.668? Is there anything I need to know other than downloading 6.0.0.668, installing it, deleting vendor.xml...
