In which case install the software on your BES and run it there.

You shouldn't need any SQL managers on the BES, all you need is the name of the SQL instance on your BES, in my case it is...

And it ZIPs as well, personally it quartered the amount of sapce needed for backup.

Not sure where the problem lies but if I backup my database using this script its 20Mb in size, give or take a wee bit, but if I backed up using the option from SQL Studio Management Express it used...
