I too have Blackstar though after downloading...
I too have Blackstar though after downloading GPSlogger I have not use it anymore (tough I like the "export to google maps feature")
In the same spirit of finding a solution I strongly recommend...

Having the phone locked or in stand by avoid it...
Having the phone locked or in stand by avoid it from accesing to the GPS data. The same happens to Google Maps, if you have a GPS location and you lock the phone you will see as soon as you unlocked...
