I can turn it on or off. That's it. When it's "ON" I can receive phone calls only. No email notification, text, BBM, nothing. When it's "OFF" I can't get ANY notifications whatsoever on my Q10.

Precisely! So while in Bedside Mode I can receive phone calls if I set the Bedside Mode to "ON". But everything else is dead. Email, texts, BBM, etc. Unless of course I'm looking at my phone to see...
