You need to subscribe to a GPRS plan first before...

You need to subscribe to a GPRS plan first before being able to use telsta.internet APN.

There is no username/password needed for Telstra GPRS. you can put in anything or just leave those fields...

I have just tested a 7100g on Telstra Australia...

I have just tested a 7100g on Telstra Australia with the following settings

+cgdcont=1,"IP","telstra.internet"

GPRS works great! dial string is *99#
