i'm in the same boat. there really is no way besides installing windows via parallels or bootcamp. it sucks. go use a friend's pc for an hour.

on my 8830 with a mac -

go to the media app and select the option 'receive using bluetooth' (however it is worded.)

in os x, click the bluetooth icon in the menu bar and do "send file"

it's an exe file. that's why. i'm in the same boat. you have to do a device software upgrade from a pc. you could install windows xp under parallels or boot camp but i have no intention of doing that...
