I believe it's because of the cingular/t-mobile...

I believe it's because of the cingular/t-mobile shared towers issue in California and Nevada. I think they are trying to get people new sims because they won't have the old cingular/pacbell network...

I had the same issue. I did not realize it and went to work a hour early! That was annoying. Nobody's at work at 6:30 in the morning.
I have to keep my 8700g set using the blackberry source for time.

Im using the 4.1.0.316 software on my 8700g and have no problem with getting signal back after losing it. I lose signal all day long at work and it gets signal back faster than my sony ericsson k750...

Edge is slower than evdo but faster than regular...

Edge is slower than evdo but faster than regular gprs. Edge goes upto 200kbps roughly. Evdo can go much faster. Edge is for gsm (t-mobile, cingular) what evdo is for cdma. (aka verizon, sprint pcs).
