I've used both, but still prefer Socialscope. Like you mentioned, Socialscope is quite fast. I haven't experienced many bugs, though there are a few quirks I'd like to see corrected in future...

Yeah, unfortunately their customer service is next to nil. When things work, it's fine. But when there's a bug or issue, it's just hang on and pray the next update will fix it.

How many signal bars of reception are you typically getting? If you see SOS often, it could be that you're in a poor/low reception area and the phone is always struggling to find a signal.

So it sounds like you have the service books for wifi. If you connect to a wifi network through your phone, I don't believe you will be charged. Of course, the final word is always with your carrier....

Depending on your carrier/cell service provider you may or may not have the service books to use wifi.
