It turns off the display and lets the BB know...

It turns off the display and lets the BB know that it is "in holster" so that it can use the "in holster" setting in the profile that you are currently using ( it may also do some other power saving...

I think that the magnet needs to be located in...

I think that the magnet needs to be located in the "keyboard" area of the device. I dont think that it will work if it placed in the "display" area of the holster.....

If it is for the 7130e it won't work with the...

If it is for the 7130e it won't work with the 7100i because of the antenna.....
