I would think somehow you have them both to sync with one another. Not just sync one- way. Such as -> device through Lotus or opposite (through BES). Check those settings and they may be your...

I was only receiving notifications of new messages (private email messages) from F/B.
It's okay with me though, because I didn't want the app filling up my screen constantly with everyones status...

I was having problems, as well. What I had noticed was I was always logged in on my home computer and had to logout of it and it corrected the problem.
