I have never done it from the BES but my simple user's can handle the Desktop Manager load. It is very easy and you can download the latest BB Desktop Manager directly from the blackberry site.

you don't have to upgrade the BES because of DST. We are still on 3.6. You have to apply the new CDO.DLL file on the server and then patch your handhelds. The handhelds are what has to be at 3.8 or...
