This is a pretty old thread, but I suggest no one else try the above. I got an unbootable 8700g (JVM error 523) after trying this experiement. I'm sure I'll be fine after I clean up and reinstall...

Guess it doesn't matter much, since I like the way the two buttons are arranged now. But it's certainly odd.
