Its $300 - $50 for a 2 year contract upgrade.

I do 1 year upgrades for this very reason, so I can upgrade every year.

OK - so with hotspot at Starbucks you can surf via wifi faster than Edge but all calls will be with minutes. That is fine.

Skype for blackberry would make all of this so irrelevant.
