If past history is any measure, I would guess 6 to 9 months before RIM releases a touch screen unit for AT&T. They have not done any lifetime exclusions yet so let's hope they do not start that SH.. ...

The RIM Bluetooth drivers are incomplete and faulty and RIM KNOWS it; THEY DON'T give a SH.. ! It is really appauling and an insult...

I have the same issue, it is something to do with the device drivers which are the responsibility of the hardware maker, RIM in this case. Come on RIM ... FIX YOUR DRIVERS !

Just a possible minor factor, you can install whatever GPS software, BB Maps, Google, TeleNav, you want on the AT&T 8310 curve. I think Verizon restricts usage of GPS to their own service

I think the TeleNav subcription is $99 per year through Telenav. I had a $6/mo from Cingular for 10 routes/month for awhile.

I would bet the jack is meant for 3 contact...

I would bet the jack is meant for 3 contact right, left, and mic and the set you are using only has 2 with no mic. Not sure as but I had the same issue with 8800

Some laptop pc's have VERY low power output on USB ports. It could just be the laptop and perhaps even the laptop only on it's battery vs AC

A News Reader that could cache articles for reading offline (on airplane etc.) would be a great first step. Another good first step could be GPS map caching.
