Battery backup while using GPS golf software

I downloaded Greefinder Golf GPS software for my BB curve.
The software is good, but the battery of my Phone is not lasting more than 2hrs of GPS usage. That makes playing 18 holes impossible....

But I am still struggling to connect to internet (thru pearl) using my bluetooth dongle.

I tried installing Microhill - stockviewr in my Pearl, but I am getting an error "Open tunnel error".
Anybody clues how to fix this?
