Yes i tried the niked BB article. Thats why I mentioned the small amount of time that the phone does get recognized. Its a tough one to figure out. I do appreciate all the input.

Thanks js I have opened it up as it was not under warranty. No water damage. New info though. Without the battery in the Blackberry Device manager recognizes the phone for 11 seconds. With the...

No I do not believe it is water damage. It seems to be okay with battery out when I try to wipe it or dl new OS it cannot handle the battery being inthe phone so does not reconnect to JVM
