I've seen this happen before when I upgraded a few of my users to 8800's. Turn off the wireless sync on the calendar, reboot the BB and then re-enable it. That usually fixes it for me.

If the IT policy hasn't been modified at all, then by default it allows BIS. You should be able to set it up on the BB unless BIS has been specifically disabled via BES policy.

the BB will only sync with the parent contacts folder. I assume what you mean by "multiples" is that they have created sub contacts list under their main contacts. None of that should sync at all.
