A Fix
I had the same problem with 4.2.2 with Windows Vista
RIM advised me to uninstall the current version and download 4.2.1.8 Desktop manager software.
That worked great!

spoke to verizon tech rep
In regards to this function being deactivated by the network, I phoned verizon blackberry Technical support, which they conferenced RIM in on our converstion.
They could not tell me how to...

GPS for 8703e
I too think its ridiculous Verizon deactivated the Internal GPS function for the 8703e when sprint/nextel or Altel does not deactivate this feature.
