I've seen this happen before when I upgraded a few of my users to 8800's. Turn off the wireless sync on the calendar, reboot the BB and then re-enable it. That usually fixes it for me.

the BB will only sync with the parent contacts folder. I assume what you mean by "multiples" is that they have created sub contacts list under their main contacts. None of that should sync at all.
