If you need to have folder synching, then you should consider signing up for a hosted BES with an exchange server. It will not be exactly like IMAP, but will allow synching of your email, tasks,etc.

I also use http://www.exchangemymail.com for a hosted BES and it adds much more functionality to the BB. Great for organizing your emails, calnedar and tasks.
