I installed 8700C_PBr4.2.1_rel126_PL2.3.0.67_A4.2.1.85_OPTUS.exe on my 8700g. I can view Chinese in SMS / Email / Web.

Can you view Chinese web pages? By the way, I did restore everything after...

Not sure if it has been mentioned. I can use the shortcut (D=delete, r=reply...etc) in the email box without using the trackwheel to enable to menu.
