Yes, the anti-Blackberry sentiment is definitely a factor.

But the company should have done a better job of generating the "buzz" and creating the "need". They also seriously dropped the ball...

You are partly correct - Google no longer offers GoogleSync for Blackberry.

However, Google does sync Calendar and Contacts for your Gmail account. As long as urbanriot has a gmail account, he...

I used Desktop Manager to both back-up and restore 3rd party apps and data.

The only casualty was the WeatherBug app - it did not reinstall and I can't find it anywhere. On the appworld it says that...

It seems that I was able to resolve both issues by downgrading back to 7.1.0.284

Took more than a couple of tries... I ended up uninstalling ALL RIM software from my laptop, wiping bb with JL...

at&t was overwhelmed with cell phone call attempts. I had to use a LAND LINE phone to make a call, what a nightmare!!! :cry:

PC is running XP. I did not turn the anti-virus off. I did not know It was necessary. I downloaded multiple upgrades in the past but never had this issue.
