Thanx spekko, I done the way as u did,
the steps I followed are

- I put the card into the SD adapter and formatted it FAT32 on a Windows XP machine
- I made sure the "Media Card Support" option was On, along with Mass Storage Support
- I took the battery out of my Blackberry
- I installed the card into the BB
- I put the battery back in

After successful booting, I checked Options and there it was.. "Free Space: 948MB"
