Also, just because AT&T releases it doesn't mean it's "safe." There have been plenty of bugs in AT&T released firmware versions in the past.
I remember a certain OS version (4.2.0.71) for the 8100 that allowed the browser and other items to be deleted if the device was plugged into Desktop Manager. So, an AT&T release doesn't guarantee anything. For all you know, AT&T could release this very version. My bet is on .52 or .55 but it could be any version they choose. You are MUCH better off to read through these threads for known/found issues and if it looks good to everyone then go for it.
