JiveTalk (and other IM clients) will drain the battery very quickly if you leave it on. I can go for around 3 days in 3G areas with a ton of emails (about 250 a day), a few calls and some light browsing. I will go to under 24 hrs of battery life with Jivetalk constantly running.
