Nope -- It costs about as much as a TV series season on DVD [ie.US$30]. Maybe there is a freeware converter out there...be sure to let us know if you find one.
. I found this to be worth it...I've got a big bunch of TV series DVDs that I haven't gotten around to watching, and suddenly it's going to be a lot more convenient. If you are a public transit commuter, it would be the ideal thing.
