I did almost this exact same path... except replace Droid with Nexus, and AT&T with T-Mobile (and no Eris in between ;) )
My Nexus was defective anyways... VERY poor battery life... to the tune of 50% left after only 4hrs, with wifi, gps, bt, im, etc all OFF... what good is having a smarthphone if everything is turned off??? So back it went after 2 weeks (barely made the 14-day window)... Rocking a 9700 on T-Mobile... UMA is awesome!!
