I dont have much experience with deleted items, but:
There is a undelete option in Exchange. It is turned on by default on the inbox and the trash.
Exchange then keeps the messages somwhere until the time x (default 30 days) is reached.
If you turn off this protection, a message is deleted immediately, and it is not recoverable.
Maybe, if the undelete protection is turned off for this mailbox ? Then the messages is deleted immediately, and, the BES needs it to track the message ?
However, if this is true, then, this problem should happen with all messages. But if this only happens for messages which are not in the inbox, then it might be a solution to turn on undelete protectio for all folders in exchange.
