Default BB9900 can only hear thru speaker and not thru headphone

Upgraded and re-installed the latest version of OS but still if I get the phone call I can only talk on the speaker phone. otherwise other party can hear me but I can not hear them.
Any idea if this is build in headphone issue or anyone else faced this on the latest version?
