Default Carrier APN vs. BES APN

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I'm not sure if I am understanding things correctly, but as I gather, my BB which is on a BES server has two APN's - one that is my BES server (which I think gets used when I use the Blackberry browser) and one for direct internet access. The plan that we have with our provider allows us unlimited "email" which, I gather means any communication to out BES server through it's APN is free, but if I surf the net using my providers APN it is charged.

I understand this (i think) and use the blackberry Browser to surf, but if I want to install applictions that use the Net - or try to use my BB as a modem for my laptop, is there a way to ensure that it uses the right APN and not get charged excess data usage?

Thanks for any responses that may clarify things for me.
