Is the only way to prevent this by choosing either the pop access or the fowarding and eliminating the other method?

I believe GMail allows you to turn off the POP3 access which would mean you would go with forwarding your GMail to your BWC. I prefer this method because there is absolutely no delay in receiving your GMail on your BB. I have been online and registered my GMail address on a website and I instantaneously receive the notification on my BB, works awesome!
