Yup, same here. I was maintaining a BES Express for 4 users but recently we've nearly tripled our headcount to 12 (and upgraded to BES Professional) so my boss knew the request for mine was coming down the line
Seriously though; once it becomes expected that there is near-zero downtime on communication, you really have no choice but to have your own unit (or at least easy access to one) for testing and maintenance purposes.
Also, if you are maintaining other systems, it really does free you up to move around and be away from your desk/mail client while being in the office. I'm contemplating changing my voicemail to say "I won't be answering voice messages; email me if you need help"
