Actually, this has nothing to do with the issue presented by the OP. The Speck holster sold by T-mobile for 8900 DOES have the magnet in the right place, and it DOES put the 8900 to sleep every single time. However, it drains power for some weird reason. As the OP noted, it even drains it when the device is OFF!
