Um... a text message is only text. Hence the name text message.

A message with a picture or audio attached is MMS (Multi-Media) or email. If she's composing a txt msg and attaching an image, it's an MMS. Often MMS msgs are incompatible between carriers and phones. Has she tried sending the picture via MMS instead of text?

You should also be able to transfer via bluetooth. Enable BT. Go to media, pictures, and do Menu->Receive using bluetooth.
